What I have learned in Purposive Communication

Purposive Communication it is a group of people with the same vision and it is used for the students to improve in all skills of communication like Verbal Communication, Non Verbal Communication and Visual Communication.

*Verbal Communication - there is a speaking, presenting verbally or by exchanging of words.

*Non Verbal Communication - there is a writing , using material to communicate people and also by using sign language.

*Visual Communication - you use pictures or anything that can visually explain what you want to convey.

Purposive Communication will be there to polish what we have or for other cases introduce new skills to have proper education towards the english language.

In this course , i've learned that there is a process of communication which are Sender who conveys the message Receiver who is the person whom the message in intended or targeted the Feedback is the final step of the process that ensures the receiver has receive the message . And in communication there are 5 ethics which you have to consider or apply when you are a speaker :

*Respect your Audience

*Consider the result of communication

*Value truth

*Use information Correctly

*Do not falsify information

When you are a speaker or you are delivering a speech you must apply this five ethics to be good communicator and you can pursuade your audiece.

There are also Four Cultural Barriers which are:

*Language Differences - In language differences misunderstanding is occur especially if you are from different country.

*Discrimination and Harassment - this barrier occur especially to mute, dumb which they cannot express their feelings clearly .

*Lack if knowledge of other culture - when we are visiting other country or place where tbey have different culture sometimes we get curious because we do'nt a lot about their culture.

*Cultural Relativism - is the idea that a person's beliefs values and practices should be understood based on that person own culture.

"Nine Principles of Communication"

*Correctness - correct using of words.

*Clarity - the clearness of speech.

*Coutesy - giving respect to others.

*Concreteness - being specific.

*Conciseness - direct to the point.

*Consideration - consider your audience.

*Creativity - being craetive when speaking or writing.

*Captivating - involve your audience to your speech.

*Cultural Sensitivity - know the culture of your audience.

This 9 principles are very important when delivering a speech so that your audience will understand clearly on what you are saying and you can pursuade your audience. And you must also know who your audience are so that your speech is related to them and they cannot feel bored in listening your speech.

Intercultural Communication - refers to interaction with people from divers culture.

There are three forms of intercultural communucation which are:

1.Interracial Communication - Communicating people from different races.

*Interethnic Communication - Interacting with people of different ethnic origins.

2. International Communication - Communicating between representative from different nations.

3.Intracultural Communication - Interacting with members of the same racial.

"Varieties and Register of spoken and written language"

Variety - also called "Lect" is specifus form of language.

Register - the level of formality in language .

There are Four types of register which are :

Frozen - a language that never changes.

Formal - uses standard english.

Consultative - less formal standard english.

Casual/Intimate - language between friends.

"Two types of Broadcast Media"

*Radio

We all know that Communication skills are essential for the successful future career of a individuality, just like in  modern generation it is important of each in everyone that we are aware in a competitive world, communication skills are the most sought quality of an educated person. Reading, writing and listening carefully are the three most important communication skills for an individual. 
Puposive Communication is very important for us to know this different type of topics that we discussed and about to discuss. This may also help us to have wider vocabulary, deeper knowledge and gather lots of information about this course that we can also use or share when we become a teacher in the near future.
